Vascular / Pigment Laser “Redness and dark spot reduction”

Vascular / Pigment Laser “Redness and dark spot reduction”

Laser Derm Riversdale Dermatology Vanessa Matthew Palmer Melbourne Derm.

We offer the Excel V+ laser and is performed by our Dermatologists.

Excel V+ can address rosacea (redness), capillaries (for example broken blood vessels or vessels to the sides of noses), and sun damage or pigmentation in a series of 2-4 treatments 4-8 weeks apart, with some patients preferring to have top up treatments after 12-24 months.

Puffiness is an expected side effect when face and neck areas are treated and can last 2-7 days, but icing, cool compresses and relaxing post procedure can help reduce the risk of this.

Excel V+ laser can also target blood vessels: angiomas, small leg veins, spider veins and venous lakes of the lip: 1-2 treatments may be expected, but discuss your specific conditions with your Dermatologist.

Many people like to have the liver spots or age marks on the backs of their hands treated with this laser, usually this improves the appearance within 1-2 treatments 8 weeks apart.

This laser treatment is generally well tolerated with discomfort minimised by the crystal cooling plate to alleviate the laser pulse heating sensations. Ice is applied after treatment also.

Sunscreen and makeup can be applied immediately after, but puffiness may limit your social activities and peaks 24-48 hours after treatment.  Brown spots usually darken and can become dry and scaly for 1-2 weeks after treatment.

*Individual results vary and all cosmetic procedures have risks.  This procedure might not be right for you. A consultation is required prior to booking in for a laser procedure, please consult your Dermatologist for an opinion if you wish and request a full consent form with further information.
