Aesthetic & Laser Dermatology
We are expert Board Certified Dermatologists, and can assist you to make the best aesthetic choices for a proactive approach to aging well.
Our aesthetic approach is not to "turn back the clock" or look 40 when you're 60. It is to use what amazing tools, information and scientific evidence we have now for your skin at your age to improve your aging journey over time and age well.
We believe in Successful Skin Aging - a transformative advance in skin health and proactive management of aging of our skin but also skin cancer prevention. This approach includes prevention for example sun-smart activities, skin cancer prevention with SPF50 and sunglasses, shade seeking.
This approach includes topical care of skin, from vitamin B3 which has benefits for pigment and solar damage to peptides for smoothing of the skin and vitamin A for enhanced turnover and collagen production over time. Topical regimes can be over and above what is needed, sometimes less is more, and what matters most is specific to your skin’s needs. We emphasise the right dietary supplements and nutrition advice for best possible skin and hair outcomes also. We utilise our expertise to assess for pre-cancerous lesions and skin cancer prior to any cosmetic management and have the options for biopsy, surgery or procedures should they be necessary. Early detection aids to minimise any scarring from surgical intervention.
We tailor an approach to fit a patient’s unique needs. The idea of anti-aging is flawed to us: it's a much better idea to age, but age well. You can start this approach at any age or stage.
We also have the latest cutting edge technology available for laser and resurfacing procedures. These range from treatment of blood vessels to reduce rosacea and vascular changes, and reduce the progression of these changes, but also we have the Ultraclear laser: a resurfacing fractional and ablative laser with options to reduce the appearance of pigment and textural changes we see with exposure to the Australian sun, and reduce solar keratosis formation, and in turn can prevent progression to skin cancer. Fractional laser promotes deeper collagen stimulating activity to work on lines, wrinkles, skin laxity and to prevent the progression to those changes in the first place.
We offer evidence-backed, proactive solutions tailored for our client's specific circumstances and perform these in house by experts.
We want people to age well, look their best, reap the rewards of looking younger, but also benefit from reduction in skin cancer and solar effects. That is the premise of Successful Skin Aging. We bring this concept to life within our skin, our skin is forward facing and has such an impact with our daily interactions, our relationships, our sense of self and confidence.

Ultraclear Laser
At Riversdale Dermatology we are experienced Ultraclear Providers. We recommend Ultraclear for patients wishing to age well, improve the health of their skin, treat sun damage proactively and for patients requesting more intensive rejuvenation who would like to avoid surgical intervention such as face lifts or neck lifts.
Ultraclear is a versatile cold fiber laser using cutting edge technology to deliver a wide variety of very effective treatments in a more tolerable treatment with improved recovery times compared to older style lasers like CO2 laser.
We offer a variety of treatments tailored to your proactive regime, specific skin concerns and your ability to have downtime.
Ultraclear uses 3D Intellipulse technology to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin at different depths controlled by your provider. This triggers the body's natural healing response to stimulate new skin cells and collagen production.
Treatments may be performed on face, neck, decolletage or chest, scalp and hands.
Clear 3D Miracl
A gentle treatment to start refreshing your skin. Think of 3D Miracl like gym for your skin. Improves pigmentation and light textural imperfections and gently removes the top layers of skin to improve your skin health. This quickly smooths out your skin and leaves you with a more radiant complexion. Benefits start with one treatment, but may be improved with a course of 3 treatments, some like to retreat every 3-6 months. Expect light redness and peeling, and potential light puffiness, that can be covered with makeup from the next day.
Clear Plus - Ablative Resurfacing for sun damage treatment
Evidence based sun damage treatment for reducing solar keratosis (sun spot) development, reducing progression of solar keratosis to skin cancer and reduction in skin cancer risk with more extensive resurfacing. Improvements in solar keratosis reduction may last up to 12 months. For patients wishing to be proactive regarding their sun damage and skin cancer risk, who want to avoid Efudix treatment.
Option for lighter grade treatment OR tailored ablative resurfacing.
Ultraclear - a global combination treatment for resurfacing and also collagen stimulation
A global treatment for improving sun damage, pigmentation and proactively stimulating your collagen.
Downtime expected 3-5 days, with light pink gently fading over 2 weeks.
Option for lighter grade treatment OR tailored resurfacing and remodelling
Ultra
Refreshing low downtime collagen stimulation, safe for all skin types. Expect mild puffiness and redness for 2-3 days. For those without significant surface changes needing addressing, or for after your resurfacing treatment/s.
Coring - the deeper mode for tightening and lifting
Full face vector coring can provide lifting and tightening of the face when performed by an experienced provider. You may wish to combine coring with Ultraclear, or Clear Plus or Clear 3D for additional resurfacing benefits.
We recommend 7 days to recover from Full Face Coring, expecting to have puffiness, redness, pinpoint bleeding for 1-3 days and tiny pinpoint red marks visible which fade over a number of weeks (quicker for face, a little longer for neck tightening procedures).
*Individual results vary, please schedule a full consultation with your Dermatologist prior. During your consultation your skin and your skin goals will be discussed and options for management will be provided for your consideration. Laser treatments may not be the best treatment for you, and strict aftercare protocols are to be followed for optimum recovery and results.
