Why see a Dermatologist?
No one understands your skin, hair and nail needs better than a Dermatologist. In Australia, this means a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD), and becoming a FACD requires a medical degree (four years minimum),a minimum of two years of working in general medical and surgical training in public hospitals, then four a further years of structured and strictly assessed Dermatology training. Selection into the ACD training program is highly competitive, and Australian training is highly regarded worldwide.
Our Dermatologists at Riversdale Dermatology have also undertaken overseas training in the United Kingdom to further their training and expertise, they keep up to date with Continuing Professional Development requirements, and have Public Hospital posts. They continue to enrich their learning with attendance at both Australian and International conferences.

Dr Vanessa Palmer
MBBS, BSc, FACD
Dr. Vanessa Palmer is a Specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Vanessa is a Consultant Dermatologist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. Vanessa was awarded The Australasian College of Dermatologists Research Fellowship at St John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London, UK and has trained in Queensland and Melbourne.

Dr Matthew Palmer
MBBS, BBiomedSc, BSc (Hons), FACD
Dr. Matthew Palmer is a Specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. In addition to private practice Matthew holds a Consultant Dermatologist position at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and is Director of Training (Victoria) for the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He is an International Member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Royal Society of Medicine, and has published papers in international and national journals and spoken at national conferences.
